Modine lands contract with Volvo Construction (2005-4-29)

For the next six years, Modine Manufacturing Co. will supply Volvo Construction Equipment with engine cooling modules for various product lines. Racine-based Modine said the contract is estimated to be worth more than $20 million per year through 2010.Modine spokeswoman Lori Stafford said the company\'s annual business with Volvo Construction has grown to about $4.5 million currently--before the new contract.Modine will supply Volvo with cooling modules for excavators, wheel loaders and articulated haulers in the medium- to heavy-duty categories. Reorganization for GM Powertrain (2005-5-8)

General Motors Powertrain named Greg Deveson vice president of GM Powertrain Europe and Walter Othero as general manager of GM Powertrain Latin America. GM Powertrain group vice president Tom Stephens announced the appointmens that will be effective upon the dissolution of the Fiat-GM Powertrain joint venture. The dissolution is expected to be completed by May 13."Both GM Powertrain Europe and GM Powertrain Latin America have specialized expertise, for example, in designing diesel and ethanol fueled engines, respectively," said Stephens. "And we need to deploy these technologies globally. Bosch Diesel Opens Plant in Czech Republic (2005-5-8)

Bosch Diesel opened a new manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic near the town of Jihlava, about 100 kilometers east of Prague on Thursday, marking further expansion in this former communist country. The plant is an expansion of an existing facility and is designed to manufacture high-pressure pumps. The new plant cost € 100 million (US$129.54 million). Hyundai Heavy Wins US$20MLN Shipbuilding Order (2005-5-9)

Komatsu profit doubles, sees another record year (2005-5-10)

Tadano plans expansion in North America (2005-5-11)

Japanese manufacturer Tadano is planning to triple its business in North America by the time the next Conexpo comes around.That is the target that has been set for Tadano America Corporation president Ken Sawada, he told Cranes Today.In the financial year just ended, to 31 March 2005, Tadano had revenues of about $30m in North America, from rough terrain and all terrain cranes, truck loaders and its new line of boom trucks.
