JCB plans expansion in Faridabad (2005-8-27)
Construction equipment manufacturer, JCB India Ltd on Friday said it is planning fresh investments to rev up production capacity at its facility in Faridabad near here to meet its hiked sales target and new model introductions in the next year."We are planning substantial investments in this plant at Faridabad in Haryana," company CEO and Managing Director Onkar Singh Sunar said. Sunar said the company, which was expecting to touch a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore this year, was looking at making the India facility of JCB as an export hub as well. He, however, did not disclose the exact investment figures. The company had commissioned its Rs 30 crore powder coating paint facility in Faridabad on Thursday. Cummins, Scania Form JV to Produce Next-Generation Fuel Systems (2005-8-27)
Cummins Inc. and Scania CV AB announced today that the companies have signed a joint venture agreement to produce next-generation fuel systems for heavy-duty on-highway trucks. Cummins-Scania XPI Manufacturing LLP is a 50-50 joint venture, which builds on Cummins-Scania partnerships on fuel systems development and manufacturing that date to January 1992. The two companies currently work together in Columbus to produce the HPI fuel system, which eventually will be replaced by the XPI (Xtra-High Pressure Injection) system. The XPI common rail fuel system is expected to be manufactured by the joint venture company located at the Cummins Fuel Systems facility in Columbus and at the Cummins plant in Juarez, Mexico. Terex Cranes boosted by tower sector (2005-8-15)
Net sales in the Terex Cranes group for the second quarter of 2005 increased to $341.5 million from $276.9m in the same period a year earlier. The company said this reflected improvement in all all businesses, particularly in tower cranes.Income from operations increased to $15.7m for the second quarter of 2005 from $12.3m a year earlier."The Terex Cranes group continued its improvement over last year\'s performance," commented Steve Filipov, president-Terex Cranes. "As in the first quarter of 2005, our business experienced an increase in sales due to generally improving market conditions. Liebherr boosts turnover (2005-8-18)
Liebherr Group boosted its turnover by €502 million or 12.3% to €4,590m during 2004. Turnover in the mobile cranes division rose by €121.6m or 14.1% to €985.2m. The construction cranes and mixing technology division also increased its turnover by €70.8m or 21.7% to €397.6m.The maritime cranes division, which encompasses harbour mobile cranes, ship cranes, offshore cranes and container cranes, increased its turnover by €13.6m or 5.3% to €271.5m. Turnover from harbour mobile cranes and container cranes rose significantly while sales from ship and offshore cranes could not quite reach the previous year figure.Western Europe accounts for 66% of the Group turnover, and remains its most important market. In the 2004 business year, the Liebherr Group invested a total of €252.6m worldwide. The number of employees in the Group went up by 1,185 to 22,245. Austrian loader crane supplier Palfinger has reported a revenue rise of 32% in the first half of 2005. Compared with the same six month period in 2004, Palfinger increased its revenue by €63.3m to €253.9m.
