Parker Hannifin Corp. said it has bought the hydraulic distribution and services assets of Dutch mobile hydraulics distributor Kuiken Hytrans BV for an undisclosed amount. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers announced that the inaugural ConExpo Asia exhibition will be held May 16-19, 2006 at the BDA International Exhibition Center in Beijing, China. The show will showcase manufacturers of equipment, products and services related to the construction industry in China and Asia and will include both regional and international companies.World of Concrete Asia will co-locate with ConExpo Asia and plans call for the co-located shows to beheld on a triennial basis beginning with the 2006 exhibitions. JLG Proft Rises, Tops Forecasts (2005-5-26)

JLG Industries Inc., which makes access equipment such as aerial work platforms, on Tuesday reported its third-quarter profit rose sharply from the year-ago period and beat analyst expectations.Net income more than doubled to $22.7 million, or 47 cents per share, from $8.7 million, or 20 cents per share, during the year-ago period. Excluding some items, the company reported earnings of 56 cents per share--up from 24 cents last year.JLG posted revenue of $505 million, a 59 percent increase from last year\'s $319 million. On average, analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 41 cents per share.Looking ahead, the company forecast full-year earnings excluding certain items to be toward the upper range of its previous guidance of between $1.05 to $1.15 per share. Hydro enters auto components sector (2005-5-27)

Hydro, the world\'s leading energy and aluminium supplier, has decided to enter China\'s lucrative automobile components sector by launching a wholly-owned aluminium precision tubing plant.The new plant, with a total investment of US$30 million, is located in Suzhou, a booming city in East China\'s Jiangsu Province.It is the Norwegian company\'s first automotive components plant in China."The factory is consistent with Hydro\'s long-term strategy of serving China\'s fast-growing market for aluminium applications," said Jon-Harald Nilsen, president of Hydro\'s aluminium division, at the factory\'s opening ceremony on Tuesday.The plant will produce drawn tubes and multi-port extrusions in coils or cut to length, which are manly used in the air conditioning and engine cooling systems of cars."Hydro already supplies the majority of the world\'s car manufacturers and suppliers, such as General Motors, Volkswagen and BMW. Daewoo Heavy Industries America is now Doosan Infracore America.Doosan Heavy Industries recently completed its purchase of the controlling interest of Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery in Seoul, Korea.While the name change has taken effect immdediately, it only applies to the corporate identity.
