Deere Expands Landscape Distribution (2005-6-1)

Deere & Co. announced that John Deere Landscapes has acquired United Green Mark Inc. to enhance its position as a distributor of irrigation, nursery, lighting and landscape materials in the U.S. Deere said the acquisition adds to the company\’s John Deere Landscapes operation, which was formed in 2001 after Deere purchased companies in the wholesale landscape supplies and irrigation industries.

United Green Mark has 41 locations in the western United States, mainly in California, and was previously owned by Olympus Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. John Deere Landscapes, Alpharetta, Ga., will add the United Green Mark stores to the existing 250 John Deere Landscapes stores in the U.S. and Canada.
